La Divisa is a farm rooted in both heritage and innovation, nestled in the lush mountains of Circasia, Quindío, Colombia. Sitting at 1,700–1,800 meters above sea level, the farm is managed by producer Sebastian Gomez, whose meticulous approach begins with hand-picking only the ripest cherries, then carefully sorting and sundrying them on raised beds in temperature-controlled conditions until the ideal moisture level is achieved.

This microlot is 100% Gesha, a legendary varietal first discovered in Ethiopia in 1931 and celebrated worldwide for its distinctive elegance and complexity. Brought to Panama in the 1960s and later introduced to Colombia in 2005, Gesha has since become a symbol of refinement in specialty coffee. At La Divisa, the volcanic ash soil, ample rainfall, and cool mountain climate create the perfect environment to showcase the floral delicacy and layered sweetness that define this coffee.

The result is a cup that brims with aromatic lavender and chamomile, balanced by caramel sweetness and a sparkling lime finish. With a cupping score of 88.75, this offering represents the artistry and dedication that make Gesha one of the most sought-after coffees in the world.

Roaster’s Reserve: Curated by Marie Marsh

This Gesha is part of our Roaster’s Reserve series—a curated collection chosen and fine-tuned by our head roaster, Marie Marsh. Marie’s roasting approach highlights the floral elegance and silky texture of this lot while preserving the bright, complex sweetness that makes Gesha so distinctive. It’s a coffee she selected intentionally for Bear Coast, and we are honored to share it with you.

As with all Roaster’s Reserve offerings, each bag is personally signed and marked with its roast date, ensuring a direct connection from farm to roaster to you.
