Coffee cupping, or coffee tasting, is the practice of observing the tastes and aromas of brewed coffee. A standard coffee cupping procedure involves deeply sniffing the coffee, then slurping the coffee from a spoon so it is aerated and spread across the tongue.
Simply put, coffee cupping is the standardized way in which our industry tastes coffee objectively.
Every time we get samples, or need to do some quality control... we cup the coffee. It is a way to not let the brewing method affect the objective flavors of the coffee.
And now it is time for you to participate.
We are opening our cuppings up to the public.
We will be hosting them at our warehouse in the business park on Saturday mornings. (see the option drop down menu for dates)
The $5 price point covers the tasting and a sample of coffee from the tasting that day.
All participants will get an email prior to arrival with more details.
